The book informs the reader about what transgender is exactly in a straightforward manner while focusing on how important acceptance is. Her parents weren't sure as to why Jazz felt out of place as a boy, but after talking to a doctor, they discovered that Jazz is transgender- a girl in a boy's body. ![]() ![]() She states that she used to be a boy, but that being a girl felt right while being a boy just felt unnatural. Review 2: This is a nonfiction story about a girl named Jazz who loves dresses, the color pink, and mermaids. The book could be used as part of a text set on exceptionali. This book could be used to talk about differences in the classroom and how it is important to accept others regardless of their differences. His parents decided to take him to the doctor where it was discovered that he was transgender. He could wear girl's clothing at home but had to dress like a boy out in public but absolutely despised this. His parents respected his wishes and referred to him as a girl and allowed him to change his name to Jazz. His mom would call him a boy but he would always correct his mom and say that he was a girl. Review 1: This was an informative book about a little boy who always felt he was different because although he was a little boy he was interested in little girl things. ![]()
